George Thorogood & The Destroyers Buddy Guy

Co-Headline Show

Tuesday, August 27

George Thorogood & The Destroyers have been rocking the music scene since their debut album in 1976. With the memorable Hank Williams remake “Move It On Over” and Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love?” Thorogood and his band made their mark. Their biggest commercial success came with their 1982 release of Bad To The Bone. All in all, the band has released 16 studio albums, including 2 certified Platinum and 6 certified Gold, selling 15 million albums worldwide. Their newest album 2120 South Michigan Avenue (2011) is a tribute to the legendary Chess Records, with covers like Little Walter’s “My Babe” and the Rolling Stones’ “2120.”

Buddy Guy is nothing short of a legend. He established himself as a pioneer of the Chicago Blues sound and influenced the likes of Jimi Hendrix. He has been known to play his guitar with drumsticks and stroll through the audience while playing solos. His latest album, Living Proof (2010) won the Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album, Guy’s 6th Grammy to date. Rolling Stone named him one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” and in 2005, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. His speech was concise: “If you don’t think you have the blues, just keep living.”
